About This Event
The Ministry of Education of the IPAM Students’ Union Government has announced the commencement of a three-day Career Readiness Symposium aimed at preparing students for the professional world and enhancing their employability skills.
Scheduled to take place from 6th to 8th July 2026 at the IPAM Main Campus, the symposium will bring together students, professionals, industry leaders, and development practitioners to discuss career opportunities, leadership, entrepreneurship, and workplace readiness. Activities are expected to begin daily at 1:00 PM.
The event will feature Hon. Dr. Kandeh K. Yumkella as the keynote speaker. His participation is expected to provide valuable insights on leadership, national development, innovation, and the role of young people in shaping Sierra Leone’s future.
According to the Ministry of Education, the symposium is designed to bridge the gap between academic learning and the demands of the job market by equipping students with practical knowledge, professional guidance, and networking opportunities.

Students are encouraged to register online and actively participate in the three-day programme, which promises engaging discussions, mentorship opportunities, and career-oriented sessions. The event is being supported by several partners, including JIT Capital, Parvez Media, PrimeNet Sierra Leone Limited, Africell, and UBA.
The IPAM SUG Ministry of Education has described the symposium as a significant step toward empowering students with the skills, confidence, and professional exposure needed to succeed beyond the classroom.
